David Batista

Senior Managing Director

David Batista has over 30 years of diversified capital markets experience as a principal investor, trader and investment banker, and founded Viriathus in 2007.

Prior to founding Viriathus, he was a Managing Director at HPC Capital Management and was responsible for their New York Private Capital Markets activities.

Previous to his work at HPC Capital, he was a Vice President of NASDAQ trading at SoundView Technology Group, a technology-focused research and trading boutique based in Old Greenwich Connecticut. While at SoundView, he was initially responsible for making markets in the semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment sectors and later led SoundView's efforts in non-tech trading by assuming responsibility for the airline, alternative energy, retail, restaurant, and post-secondary education sectors.

David also spent three years as a senior NASDAQ trader at JW Charles Securities and its successor JW Genesis Securities in Boca Raton Florida.

He began his professional career with Lehman Brothers in New York initially as an investment banking analyst where he worked on numerous mergers & acquisitions and corporate financing activities, and subsequently began his trading career on Lehman's NASDAQ desk.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and a Certificate in international marketing from C.W. Post College.

Marie Shaub

Director

Ms. Shaub is a Director in Viriathus’ Equity Advisory practice and brings a wealth of diversified financial industry knowledge to the Viriathus team. Prior to joining Viriathus in 2011, she has held roles as a NASDAQ market maker in small-cap biotech and telecom sectors; institutional equity derivatives markete; and equity/equity derivatives trading technology project manager. She was an institutional equity derivatives salesperson at Bank of America Securities, where she concentrated on covering hedge funds and money managers and providing them with strategy and execution of listed and OTC equity derivatives. She was likewise an integral part of the desk’s research and strategy effort.

She received an MBA with concentrations in finance and economics from the University of Chigago Booth School of Business in 2007 and a BA Cum Laude in Art History from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in 1997.

Beverly Jedynak

Financial Public Relations Advisor

Ms. Jedynak is a Financial Public Relations Advisor in Viriathus’ Investor Advisory practice and is a seasoned PR/IR professional with decades of experience working with microcap companies in several industries, both from the investor relations side as well as the media side. In this instance, she is rather unique as most individuals bring either the IR or the PR discipline to a project, but not both.

She began her career out of university in 1975 as a switchboard operator and rose through the ranks to become president of Martin E. Janis & Company, a Chicago based national public & investor relations firm, serving as president from 2004 to 2014.

She received a degree in music education from Dana College and is also the Cantor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Logan Square in Chicago.
